Modesty is the art of drawing attention
to whatever it is you're trying to be humble about.

Alfred E. Neuman (June 1987)

I was born in Brooklyn, New York, a few years before the Giants
and Dodgers escaped to California.

I attended PS (Public School) 91, Lefferts JHS (JHS61) and
Wingate High School. Eventually, I too, escaped to California.
One of more the difficult things about the move was having to learn
a new language because no one spoke Brooklynese.

I am married and have 3 great kids. They are 16 and 15. No I'm not crazy
and no I'm not counting an invisible friend. At times it seems there are more
than 3. When I'm upset I sometimes get their names wrong but so far I have
never called any of them by the cat's name. I have a daughter that is 14 and
twin boys that are 13. When people hear that I have 3 kids so close in age,
the most common response is "Oh your poor wife ". If this keeps up, I might
get a complex or maybe even a phobia. I haven't decided yet.
Maybe I'll have both!

I really do love my kids and I enjoy spending time with them but I need
to escape from them once in a while. When I need to escape, I don't hide
in the bathroom and read the newspaper (somehow the lighting always
seems better in there
) and I don't go out to the garage to polish the
tools I never use but are there just in case. While both would provide
a sense of accomplishment, neither provide what I'm looking for so I
chose to make this time waster of a home page. I hope you enjoy it.

This is one of my favorite pictures. It is the intersection where
9th Avenue ends at 37th Street in Brooklyn. The background is
Greenwood Cemetery. What they were thinking when they posted
this sign?
